e) CUPE, Unifor and NSGEU have the right, with the consent of the employer, to establish employment management committees to deal with specific issues of each principal. “While we know there are still issues to be raised in 2023, we were confident that the Agreement reached on July 6 was certainly in the best interests of members,” said Les Duff, Interim President of Local 8920. The terms and conditions of long-term disability plans, including amendments adopted from time to time, shall be deemed incorporated by reference into this Collective Agreement and shall be deemed enforceable in the same manner as any other provision of this Collective Agreement. This provision applies to all plans in effect at the time of signing this Collective Agreement, unless the parties have agreed otherwise. (a) The employer may enter into individual return-of-service agreements with employees in respect of educational programs that span a period of more than six (6) calendar months and where the employee`s participation in the program is voluntary. The Union is a party to all these agreements. In a press release, the Health Care Council of Unions said 82 percent of members who voted voted to accept the agreement, which provides for reasonable salary increases as well as significant language improvements for each of the three years it covers. Pensioners receive pensioners` benefits in accordance with the provisions laid down for their place of work under previous collective agreements concluded between the predecessor employers and the constituent unions of the Council. CUPE 8920 members vote on whether or not to accept collective agreements that define wages and working conditions. To date, the parties have conducted 27 rounds of bargaining to conduct a very complex set of negotiations that requires the consolidation of collective agreements between the four unions (Unifor, NSGEU, CUPE and NSNU) in the areas of acute and municipal care. The Nova Scotia Labour Council (NSNU, NSGEU, CUPE and Unifor) and the Employers` Group have reached collective bargaining and refer all outstanding issues to arbitrator William Kaplan. If either Party disputes the application or general interpretation of this Agreement, the dispute may be discussed with the Employer`s Vice-President responsible for Human Resources or the person designated by that person or, as the case may be, with the Union. If no satisfactory agreement is reached, the dispute may be resolved in accordance with Article 26 and the three (3) steps of Article 25.03 shall be deemed exhausted. This article does not apply in the case of individual complaints. By mutual agreement between the union and the employer, the employer may deduct from the employee`s salary the annual professional registration fees paid by the employees and, if possible, transfer them directly to the professional association. If the professional association does not accept payment directly from the employer, the employer pays the fees deducted to the employee once a year at a time specified by the employer. It is the employee`s responsibility to ensure that all registration information is submitted to the employee association within the submission deadline. (b) The duration of the transitional support programme may be extended by mutual agreement between the Parties.
