Once approved and submitted by the course leader, a “DEF” or “Deferred” appears in your transcript and note report. The “DEF” qualification is maintained until the course manager delivers the closing note in accordance with the agreement. There are some things that help you apply for deferred status: petitions that cannot be approved administratively are forwarded to the Student Petitions Committee of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Specialized Studies. The committee consists of 16 elected faculty members and eight elected students, who are on hiatus and generally meet four to six members. The quorum of a panel is composed of three members, one of whom must be a student. In general, the Commission will hear petitions up to one year after the closing of the course for the session to which the petition refers (petitions for a deferred state or waiver of the necessary revocation have their own specific deadlines, which are earlier, see the section “Standing Deferred”). Most course directors provide procedures and information on the delayed position in course reshuffles. In these procedures, you will find specific instructions for the course. If a trainer does not accept a deferred application, students have the opportunity to submit an academic petition. You must formally request a postponement. The deadline for filing this form expires no later than one week after the missed exam or the last day of the course. For the end-of-year exams, the agreement will allow you to write at another time. Note that manufacturing dates can be predefined and procedures vary by department. This information is normally available in exchange prices. The deferred position should be agreed for reports, tasks, tests, examinations, completion exams and other work assigned to the course, but should not be used for additional work or tasks outside the formal labelling system advertised in the classroom. There are no plans to rewrite a final exam to improve a final score.
The course manager must accept that the circumstances warrant a deferred position. You need to meet with your course director to find out when the due date applies to the work in progress. Petitions relating to registration status or academic reputation must be filed within 30 days of the final reports of the meeting. Such petitions may be considered for up to one year if they are based on specific circumstances. This petition must be filed with the Student Client Services Office and must include the form for the academic petition, your written petition letter and a summary form of student course results.
